While I had the boat torn up for my upgrades, I went looking and found the Volvo trim connector. Looks like the Volvo transom trim switch assembly should be plug and play.

Horrible pic, the flash on my digital camera is broke, so I had to photoshop contrast and brightness levels.

Anyway, on my boat this connector is located behind the engine, below the tow eye thru hull bolts, on a fiberglass shelf. This is also probably where the merc or generic trim switches would splice in as well.

I'm still looking for the Merc P/N. I've come up W/ 815200a 1 for Pre 2003 & 815200A02 for post 03 models. But when I try to find that P/N on Merc. , Boat Fix or any other on line site nothing. I called my dealer Sat. Maybe they'll be a message when I get home today??
Any help on the Merc Transom Mounted Trim Panel for an 08 H190 would be GREATLY Appreciated :)

Mike provided CONTROL PANEL 3855650 which Volvo lists as fitting Engines: DP-D1, DP-E, DP-G, DPX, DPX-A, SP-C1, SP-E, SX-M, SX-MACLT, SX-MBAC, SX-MDA, SX-MDB, SX-MDC, SX-MHP, SX-MLT.

If I didn't already buy a generic one, I'd call Volvo Customer Service at 1-800-916-1123, get the right part number, then go do an eBay search. There's a 3855650 available there now.

Jim, where did you get that compatibility list? I don't see DP-SM listed; maybe that's why mine wasn't plug & play. Though, I suspect that list just isn't complete.

OK, I think that's an incomplete list. I know when my dealer called Volvo to get the part number for my DP-SM, that's what they said to use. It's just a simple membrane switch (and ought to cost about $20, not the $70 that they go for on the street).

I think the compatibility list refers to the transom shield, not the actual drive. As far as compatibility with the electrical side of the hydraulic pump, it should make no difference if the SX drive has a single prop lower unit or a DP one.

Yeah it's confusing because I see both transom shields and actual drives in that list. Weird. Must be Volvo. :)
