I hope this works. It's my first time putting pics up in here.

Was it plug and play? Any pics of the wiring?

The one for the Mercruiser is.

He's got a VP on his boat and I do on mine also. I had a Merc on my Sea Ray and it was a nice easy install...I want to make sure it will be on this boat also.

Sorry, no wiring pictures. I don't know if it was plug and play or not, but for what they charged me for labour, it couldn't have taken very long.

This is a Merc switch. My engine is Volvo. It works perfectly.

I posted the part number earlier in this thread.

Good luck.

Sorry guys. I can't confirm the Merc P/N. We moved recently and can't find anything at home...

You could reach in with your camera and take a pic similar to the one I posted above - the area is just below the mounting back plate for the tow eye.

My guess would be we'd see three splicing connectors like these:

That's a nice looking switch.

I'll try to get in there tonight and snap a few pics from the inside.

Also buy some 3m 5200 to seal it all up with. The switch ordered from Monterey dealership(closest to me) charge me $46.xx for them to order it in.

Looks just like the one I added to my Sea Ray. I can't remember what I paid for it, but I know I got it from boatfix.com

http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread. ... tch&page=3

I'm not near my boat, but does an '04 Volvo DP have a flat 3 Pin packard connector at the pump or a round 3 blade connector?

If it were me I'd use 4200, not 5200 on this.

OK, here you go. It is sort of behind the blower vent, but I got in as close as I could. The 3 wires go into a plastic conduit, and then down to the transom shield area, and I can't see them anymore. I imagine they go straight to where the drive controls are, and tie in there to the other switch?

I didn't see any sort of a harness, just the crimp joints...

Hope this helps...

Not what I expected. From the color coding on the other side of the bullet connectors, I do believe that is FW harness wiring. I may have to dig around a bit more on mine, could be there's a run to a dangling connector somewhere. I was bummed at the prospect of having to to splice into the wire harness, now maybe I won't need to. Very helpful!

Ha! Broke out the wiring schematics. I had located the connections going into the drive, but there is wiring for a transom tilt switch wired out with the blower motor connection just as shown in the pics above. It's described as an OMC Plug, TRIM/TILT. Appears to be a round plug per the drawing. Think I'll dig around a little to see what I can find on that.

Couldn't find a source or other info on the connector. Guess crimp connectors are the way to go.
