Cruisair AC Unit Noise

I have a 10K btu unit in my Vista 298 that is now @ 5 years old producing a vibration "rattle" noise (seems more loud than an ac unit should produce). When applying hand pressure "pushing" slightly the compressor or coils, the noise reduces but does not completely go away. I was curious to know what others experience. I realize it is difficult to quantify noise level without a db meter - just in general terms.

I did notice that the unit is mounted to a drain pan with rubber isolation washers and wanted to know if anyone had replaced the isolators to reduce this type of condition. Thanks!

I have the same type of vibration on my 08 V288. I have already told the dealer that I would like it looked at during the 20 hour service. It just started recently.

I had this problem on my brand new 358. everytime the compressor kicked in it made a loud vibration sound. I reported it to the dealer and he had a marine AC company out immediately and look at it. I don't know what they did but it is nice and quiet now.

Wire ties

. Try to tie up rattling metal lines going right over compressor .Hope it helps !

Thanks for the wire tie advice. I have done this with marginal success. I did call Cruisair rep in Annapolis and they want major money just to travel to the site plus T&M. I have requested if they could provide the rubber isolation feet that is between the unit and drip pan.

The fix for mine I was told was to adjust the tension on the mounting bolts.

I know this is an old post but I just wanted to revisit this. Our ac and heat works great, blower is quiet. Just the compressor noise is the issue. Next weekend I'll try the wire ties or adjusting the mounting bolts, just curious if anyone else has had any success keeping the noise down.

I found that the Neoprene pad that my A/C sat on had crushed over time and no longer provided any quieting - and the mount screw grommets had degraded. I built an isolator and remounted the unit, very effectively. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6106&p=60420#p60420

Be careful using wire ties on the refrigerant lines. It will not take long for the vibration to wear on them creating a leak. That will cost you $$$ if this happens!

I'd go with a rubber pad of some sort to absorb the units vibrations. The stock pad is very thin.
