I carry four 8” bumpers but unless I dock in rough water I typically use 3 of them. As you know there is only one middle cleat open for bumper so I bought these quick connect thing and hook to front rails and bimini bottom. They work well. Even my wife can put in and out without fuss.

I too have bought 8" bumpers/fenders for our boat. The stock 5.5" ones have neat little storage compartments in front of the widshield but don't really do too much. I am still waiting for the 8" to arrive so I am not sure exactly where I will store them. I plan on keeping 6 of them on the boat because when we go in the locks of the Rideau Canal, you need them on both sides of your boat in case they put somebody beside you. I imagine I will keep one behind the cooler, two in the helm storage and the rest in the ski locker.

Hey Sushi! I am glad that you are getting some use out of your boat this week. I see your at the fuel dock.... Has it been a familiar place?

Take care about where you tie down a fender. A sudden wake thrown your way can set the boat rocking pretty bad. Worst case, the boat dips down and the fender slides under the nearby edges, only to rip itself loose when the boat comes back up with the fender still stuck. If it's tied off to something secure this usually isn't a problem as the fender is flexible enough to get squeezed loose. But depending on where you're docking it may or not be a likely problem, just keep it in mind.

You probably got your fenders already, but was going to echo the sentament about bigger is better and add that all white or at least white body of the fender is important. I was told by several other boating friends not to get anything other than white and not to let anyone tie up with me that was using anything other than white or be prepared to buff out marks on your hull.
