Teker, you wrote that you use a Super Soaker to shoot the antifreeze through the discharge; I assume this is with the boat out of the water. Does this method push the antifreeze all the way back through the intake?? I have completed my freshwater and waste water winterizing all I have left is the AC/Heater.

Yes, push it through the outlet until it runs out the intake on the bottom of the boat. Make sure you have the seacock open.

I was wonder what everybody else does when winterizing their engines? Do you pull the drain plugs first then put them back and run anti-freeze through the engine or do you just run antifreeze through the engine until you see pink?

I pull all the hoses off the thermostat housing, pull the housing off the manifold, pull the block drains and let it gravity drain and poke out the drain holes (to clear sediment) then put the plugs back in, fill the engine block via the intake manifold, put the thermostat housing back on with a new paper gasket coated on both sides with RTV , pour pink down all the hoses, till pink comes out the Out Drive and then put the hoses back on and torque the clamps back down.

Brett --- Thanks for the advice... I am pulling the boat November 1st ... Still trying to get the last bit of boating in. We took a cruise last weekend with the camper canvas up... It was fairly nice.

I'm heading down to my 298 to winterize all the water and waste systems. I have the bypass kit, tools, 5 galls of pink stuff and the owners manual. I think I have everything covered except for my cock pit icemaker. I don't see any instructions/guides on how to get antifreeze through it. Any advice/links would be appreciated.

Did my 248 today.. I took the red piece of PEX off that FW used from the safety valve on the hot water tank and used it to bypass the tank! :)

Did my water and waste systems today overall it was pretty easy except for the water heater bypass kit I bought. Turns out the kit was expecting my existing water lines to have female connections whereas they were male. So I need to buy 2 new hoses. It still worked for the bypass but right now it's permanent and the easy valve isn't in. I also brought a sink link hookup and put a compression fitting on one end. This allowed me to connect the hose right to the water pump and run tubing into bottles of antifreeze. Next year I can probably do the whole thing in less then an hour.

The ice maker was very simple as the supply line had a t with the cockpit sink. I was able to disconnect both ends and blow any water out.
