Fire, I saw a Cruisair portable A/C unit on Craigslist locally for $500 the otherday.
For the 3 times per season you would actually need A/C, that might be all you need.
Just like this one.

My neighbor has one on his 270DA, and it works great, and it is easy to install, and
remove when not in use.

Thats my gut feeling. Broker isn't much help. "It's listed as having it, but I haven't seen the boat."

We are looking at a '07 in RI that has everything but gen...no trailer though...

If it's this one, it's a strange looking add. You say no trailer but the add says. "Looking for all that a trailerable cruiser should be? The 278 Vista is your answer." IMO there is no reason to tout the "trailerability" of a boat, that does not come with one. Despite the fact it is indeed trailerable. And, all the pictures say "sister ship" , which normally indicates what you see is NOT what you get.

Good luck talking him down into the 40's if this is the one you are considering.

3 times?? We have used ours ever day/night on the boat since probably late may. Even with a bigger cabin and plenty of air flow it gets uncomfortably hot if not unbearably hot. Nothing beats being able to cool off and relax when it gets like that. Not having AC would be an absolute deal breaker in these parts if you ask me.

That's the one. It was listed on 2-19-09, and the pics are of the '06 for 79k they are selling. I just got 15 FRESH pics, shoot me a PM with your email and I'll let you see. It needs a trailer, so we are quite a bit aways on price. From what I've seen so far, they either have a LOT of room to move, or none at all.

And I'm with Cincy. You have no idea how much it SUCKED being in my cuddy over the weekend, tied up to SundayDinner who had his gen/AC running. It must have been 70 in his boat, and 80 in mine.....

Well, I guess it's okay to post boats above your price range, so here is another one that is one step down from the $70K and the $62K boats posted above. How about a mere $54K ??
Everything but the space hoggin' genset on this baby........

The AC question is being answered tonight....boat is being checked out by an IFW member :). If it doesn't have AC, its a $3500 add on at a marina down the road from where this boat is at.

It was more like 66 degrees in my cabin! Sorry if the generator kept you awake. I have to admit, I thought that we would only use the A/C a few times a year, but we have used it almost every night on the hook. That cabin gets HOT, even when the weather outside is only in the low 80s.

The gen was fine...it was knowing it was 66 in your cabin! We can't wait for the cruiser...

Hey Firecadet, I know this does not have all of the requested options, but it may make up for it in price and condition. We were advertising our 268 during the winter, but now that it is boating season, we haven't updated the ad. We are very negotiable on the advertised price, and we are accessible in MI for a sea trial. I couldn't tell if you had made a decision yet. If you have any questions please give me a call. Thanks for your time, Keith.

Here is the ad from winter viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2895
