So far this year, I only donated 1 chair to the lake. We were out in my dad's fishing boat and had an extra seat in the middle that was not attached. I leaned over to put a fish in the basket and my brother-in-law flipped over the side of the boat in the chair (fully dressed with wallet, cell phone, etc.). He came back up but the chair sank to the bottom. There is now some fat catfish with a nice swivel seat at the bottom of Pickwick Lake.

BTW, the cell phone dried out after a few days and worked fine.

The mention of cell phones reminds me that my first cell phone was claimed by Neptune. Didn't go overboard, but in the wake-over-the-bow incident that was mentioned in another thread, the phone got wet with salt water .... that killed it.

As 298VISTA2000 mentioned.... the insurance plan made the difference in finishing off a 2-year plan with vs without a phone!

LOL. I can't tell you how many times I have seen people do that (including my drunk ass). A futile attempt to say the least when you have had one too many.

A year ago we were tied up with 5 other boats in the back of a cove for the weekend. My wife mistakenly, (i mean drunkenly) steps off the back of our swim platform and looses her rx glasses, titanium frames $$$. A little pissed about the cost, but more important she couldn't see the rest of the weekend.
Here is the crazy part... Last weekend a friend of ours hands me her old pair of glasses, same RX, same fit. They were anchored in that same cove, as they pulled up the anchor noticed something sticking out of the mud stuck on the anchor. His wife remembered, my wife falling in and loosing the specs, so they cleaned them up a little and gave them to us. Just a small scratch on 1 lense but overall they are almost perfect.
So she now has her old rx glasses that stays on the boat as back-up.
Somtimes the water taketh, and sometimes the water giveth

2 wedding rings, 6 anchors (4 of which were lost in my teenage years), 1 18" blown car stereo subwoofer used as an anchor (#5) after I lost 4 anchors as a teenager and couldn't afford anything else, 1 cheap sunglassess, 1 inbreed dog but was able (but hesitant) to retrieve him.

Ok this is a awesome thread so here are the things I have donated to the lake. One coated anchor ( Yea I'm watching I think one of you might have found it ahemmmmmm. J/k) 2 ski flags, 4 bimini top screws, and I think that is about it. Things my friends have lost: Cell phone and one pair of cheap sun glasses.. Things I have lost to the highway because They weren't put away: 2 towels, 2 ski flags. Now I double check to make sure everything is put away and in the ski locker.

..... Which brings up one of the great mysteries........

How does a person loose one shoe, in the middle of I-75 (or whereever)?

2 pairs of Oakley and 1 pair of RayBan glasses in one season. Ugh. Good thing my daughters boyfriend knows the rep and I have been getting the samples cheap.

Last year, first time out for the season I was handing my daughter my keys and sunglasses as she was standing on the dock, she dropped the $$$ prescription sunglasses in their case. Two weeks later i'm out with an underwater camera loooking to see if I can find them on the bottom...no luck!!!
