I am looking to sell my 298 Vista after some health problems and a new baby has forced my finances to be stretched but worse more reduced the amount of time I can spend on the boat. I know many of you have sold your boat online so I was wondering what sites are the best? I found the boat on boattrader when I orginally bought it so I was going to try that first.

Craigslist and ebay did it for me. Didn't sell on ebay but it gave alot of exposure.

I did put it on Craigslist and have received some interest, was thinking about Ebay, and I have sold alot of stuff on Ebay but nothing of this size and nature so I am not too knowledgable in how the costs at sale work and how you would negotiate inspection and payment. I will have to do some research.

You sure have had some rough seas over the last several years with boats. The near sinking and salvaging of your Bayliner, and now needing to let the 298 go. I hope things improve for you in the near future, and you can get back into boating for years to come.

You may want to try Oodle. It gets
quite a bit of exposure there.

Best of luck with the sale of your 298.

When I was shopping I used Craigslist, but I uses a Craigslist search engine to expand the scope of my searching. You may also want to place your listing in other major metro areas beyond your home listing too.

Doc, I'm a big fan of boat trader. I've sold boats and cars (auto trader/same company) and most recently my H200 in May. I got tons of calls and emails, even after I pulled the ad and it had sold!

I know everyone has their favorites, but with the luck I've had, as well as my friends, I think it's #1. I've used Craigslist, too, and it's free, but it was more hit and miss and people wanting you to take thousands less. Probably just my experience as I know it has sold many peoples (on this site) boats and cars. Plus, I got calls as far away as Australia with one that had the cash to send but I had already sold it!

Another consideration, you see far, far, fewer Four Winns for sale (which says a lot about people being happy with them) and you have people logging in looking for them miles and miles away. The guy that bought my boat lived in another state and was sold on the pics I sent him and what I told him about the history.

Hate to see anyone part with their boat when they still have a passion for it, but I sincerly wish you the best!

Bought and sold 4 boats a couple of trucks, 4 snowmoblies and a lot of other stuff on Craigslist. When we were in Utah, the KSL site was even better.
