Jim - I know exactly how you feel. I picked up my boat late October last year. However, I wasn't going to wait until Spring to take her for a spin. I negotiated with Hall's to re-winterize the boat if there was an opportunity for a quick cruise. So on November 8th, I launched in Holland and headed south to Saugatuck for a beer at Coral Gables. Needless to say it was easy to find a spot to tie up.

You have plenty of time to get her out. Just keep the bow cover on and you'll be fine. I don't plan on winterizing mine until late October.

That there ladies and gentlemen is a man that takes after my own heart. Thats how its done. Thank god there are people out there that get it. I have two things against me however. 1. Spicers is trying to fix our new boat. The Catalytic converter is causing some issues, so now they are having a conference call tomorrow with both Merc and Four Winns on the subject. 2. My wife is a party pooper. She doesn't want to spend any money to have to winterize the boat, even thought I tell her that we have some decent weather still ahead, and with a new boat we could use the time to at least start the break in process, not to mention tally up a list of things that will probably be in need of attention as I understand that what happens with new boats. Make a list, give them back the boat in November. Thats how I see it anyway.

Jim

The dealer is most likely going to have to put it in the water to test their fix anyway. From the sounds of your other thread, it's the least they could do to throw in a full winterization for you on the house (that and an extended warranty).

My cousins are trying to talk me into a November boat run here in Iowa. Avg lows are well into the 30s by that time. I keep my boat in an unheated garage. I'll most likely wimp out and winterize my boat in Oct. Either that or I'm buying some space heaters for my garage.
