Well, just put on more hours this past long weekend (Sat through Wed), than the whole rest of the year. About 20 hours of running time, exploring Narragansett Bay and the coastal areas around Point Judith.

62 hrs for us. We were on the boat every weekend from May 1 until Oct. 10, except for the 2 we spent on Norris Lake and and 1 when our daughter took us to Lake Tahoe (our Christmas present). Our weekends are 4 days, Fri. to Mon. More nights on the boat than at home. Now that's a good summer. Going to be lost for a couple of weekends, although a trip to Aruba next month and 2 months in Florida after the holidays will help.

30 hours on this 248 so far and only had it a month, I'll use it until mid November and put it up for the winter. My old boat I put 128hrs on last season. The 248 uses nearly twice as much fuel as my last boat so I'll be slowing down a little hour-wise once the newness wears off :)

I cant figure how some can only put 20-30hrs a season on, but it happens a lot since I see a lot of 2-3 year boats for sale with under 100 hours on them..

Not sure on the hours at the moment, but the boat went into storage today. Checked over the maintenance work done by the shop (the drive drain plug was a tad loose), reinstalled the props, and pulled the 5 year old batteries and brought them home; they'll be replaced in the spring. Also had them install the tfExtreme shift cable.

I honestly don't know how many hours I've put on this year. Maybe 20 since I bought the new boat in August, don't know how many with the old one.

It's easy, depending on the type of boating people do. Most of our boating with the family is on smaller lakes (1200 acres) and consists of launching, cruise around the lake once, do some watersports, stop at one of the various "beaching" areas or anchor for a bit and BS with people, eat, do some more watersports, leave. So while we're on the water for 6 - 8 hours, the boat only gets 1 1/2 - 2 hours on it. If that was the only type of boating we ever did (as is the case with a lot of people around here anyway), we'd maybe put 20 hours on a year. We head to the Mississippi or a larger lake a few times a year. Those trips which are much more "cruising", put a month or two of our normal hours on the boat. Or several times per year I head to the lake for a few hours on Friday after work with the guys and do watersports. In those cases 3 or 4 hours on the lake results in 2 or 3 hours of use.

We used the heck out of our last boat. In the 5 summers we owned it, we averaged once a week on it from May until Sep or Oct, and we still only put 200 hours on it.

I wasnt implying it was 'bad' to put so few hours on it, I wish thats all the hours I put on. Like I said I see a lot of boats out there that are 4-5 years old boats with under 100 hours on them so its pretty normal. My old 180 Horizon that I trailered I put at least 20 hours a month on it, my last 22' bowrider I put 128 hours in one season and this one will easily see 120-150 in a season and thats just on weekends April to October. I put 7 hours on it this past Saturday and Sunday, I like driving around too much I guess :)

I know, no offense was taken. It's interesting to see different opinions from different parts of the country. In this part of the country very few boats "wear out" mechanically, but some people are enamored when they hear a boat only has X hours. I'm meticulous about caring for our boats, so the guy that bought my old boat should be very happy. But it had some wear and tear that comes with a day or two of usage per week by a family of 5 plus a dog. Had I not taken good care of it, it could have easily been a low hour boat that was worn out.

I love driving around too, but on a small lake that gets boring, and most of my passengers don't like it as much as I do :)

Thats true, many times hours dont mean much, especially if a used boat has been sitting at a dealer for a couple years - they seem to age quick there.

Sometimes I take living 100' from the Tennessee River for granted I guess, I remember when I was kid and my dad used to take us boating and it was two hour trip to the lake (Chicago suburbs) and a two hour wait at the ramp, but a couple hours on the boat was well worth it even on a small lake. Been living here for 10 years and finally had enough time to get into a boat and I have been using it.
