Well, as it appears everyday that our 298 Vista deal just may pan out, the Admiral is insistant that we have a comparable stereo to what we have in our H200. I will most certainly replace the existing speakers with the Polk DB651 and likely add 2 additional pair some how.

I need to spend some more time on the boat to visualize where to mount a sub box (or two) and where to put in those additional pairs of Polk's.

What have you guys done if anything to improve your Vista (particularly the 298's).

Not sure if you remember mine, but I put a free air sub under the port lounge seat. I think you have the same compartment.

The Vista system stereo is the best for sound. Vista appears on a daily basis that we only deal with 265 Vista can take place. The Admiral is insistent that we have a comparable stereo, what we have in H200.That will replace the current Polk DB651 speakers and probably add two additional seats in pairs like.

This is a tough one to answer. We all have different ideas on what makes a great stereo, and we all have opinions on how to do it up right.

Since this subject is really a minor detail with regards to the boating experience and relatively inexpensive to install / upgrade, you should wait until you get boat and spend time aboard to see what You want to improve for your liking.

I know some guys like to spend thousands on there audio system, I would rather spend it on a jet ski.....Oh ya, I did. I am not one to sit on a boat and "listen" to the radio, I can do that at work or driving to/from work. My time at the lake is to spend doing activity's. But thats just me. I have upgraded the stereo system from the cheesy stock system, but it does not sonic booms to the entire lake. Single small sub, and added 2 more cockpit speakers. Works for us.

Good Luck, and let us know what you ended up with.

I second the sub in the port side lounger, there is easy access to it by lifting the seat, you can pretty much keep it fairly dry. Also, its right behind where the stereo is so the wiring is fairly easy. I replaced my stock head unit with a pioneer premier with the ipod cable. I also added a new remote unit at the helm so I dont have to go inside to change the channel. I thought about also mounting one at the swim platform but then lost interest. I put polks in the radar arch replacing the stock speakers, but there are a few access hatches in my arch where I could fit up to two more sets if I wanted and may add one set downfiring. The speakers in the bow area are a PITA to get too though.

Fiberglass pods made to fit on the inside of your arch that covers the existing holes. Seen them have 2 6-1/2's, a pair angled toward the bow and a pair toward the aft. As for sub the more the better.

The stereo system Vista is better for it. View appears in a newspaper that only deal with 265 Vista can take place. The Admiral insists that we have a sound comparable, which will replace the current H200.That in Polk DB651 speakers and probably add two additional seats in pairs.
