I have a 2001 Four Winns 328. I am having a problem with my portlights. The small plastic tabs that move over the window to close it shut are cracking and breaking off. I have used crazy glue to re-attach, but they eventually break again. Without the black plastic tabs, the portlight windows will not stay shut. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to replace the entire portlight windows, when it is just the plastic tabs that are breaking from wear and tare. Has anyone else had the same problems. I beleive my portlight windows are similar to the 1999 and 2002 four winns 328

I have the same year and model, and have not had a problem. Sorry to hear about it. Let me know what you end up doing, in case I encounter the same thing.

Does your portlights have the two small black plastic tabs that swivel around and close the window? None of yours have gotten very loose, cracked, or broken? Not sure why many of mine have.

Yeah, think they are the same ones. I have not noticed anything wrong, but I'll pay close attention when I'm out there this week. Are you having an issue on all portlights?

same windows here, I haven't had a problem with the tabs that lock the window yet, but I have had a few of the hinges break. Tried working with Taylor Made but at the time the products were not available. I know the design changed, probably just have to refab something.
Normally I have good customer service from their products. Might make a winter project to come up with something.

The bathroom and both sides of the v-berth portlight windows have cracked or broken plastic tabsthat I have glued. They seem to be molded around a aluminum rivet that is built into the portlight window. They seem cheap to me as some plastic tabs swivel very lossely while others are quite stiff when turning them to close the window. Also, do you have any signs of corrosion around the portlight windows both inside or outside. Mine does along the outside and inside of several of my portlight windows, as the previous owner boated in salt water. I believe the aluminum portlight windows corrodes more easily than stainless steal. Does anyone else had signs of corrosion and what did you do about it? I am thinking off sanding and repainting. Merry Christmas.

You probably have Taylor Made Sea Vue portlights like I do and it is the adjustable friction hinge that is breaking. I had the same issue with some of mine and I just called my dealer and he got the hinges for me. This was about 5 years ago so who knows if you can even get them now. However, I did go on Taylor Made's website and they still make portlights with the same type worthless hinge.

Edited to add: I just re-read your thread and apparently you are not having issues with the hinges. I have not had an issue with the tabs, only the hinges. Sorry.

Thanks for the assistance. I will investigate Taylor Made portlight windows.
