This is crazy. We have about 18" on the driveway. Still snowing and looking at sub-zero weather tonight. Last night power was out for about 8 hours. Wild Thundersnow around 11:00 pm! Not going anywhere today!

Staying home today myself. I could have made it to work, but decided it was not worth the risk.
we got about 14" last night, and it's still snowing. I love it !
This mornings' view from the back door.

One maybe positive thing is that old ground hog,
Quote:
The world's most famous groundhog predicted an early spring Wednesday. Punxsutawney Phil emerged just after dawn on Groundhog Day to make his 125th annual weather forecast in front of a smaller-than-usual crowd who braved muddy, icy conditions to hear his handlers reveal that he had not seen his shadow.

I hope he is right !!!

We've had quite a bit of ice here. Of course its the first winter I've had to park outside.

Id much rather have the snow than all this ice! Its no fun when the dog goes outside to do its business and it just stays on top of the ice...

65 days and counting....

The Ground Hog says early spring this year.

I would have believed him 3 days ago when it was 76 F in southern Kansas.
Right now it's -6 with a wind chill around -30. 12" of snow blowing around.

I think Phil is full of crap this this year.

Spring can't come soon enough. We were surprisingly spared the latest snowfall. Only got 3 inches. I'm starting to get cabin fever, getting itchy to start my Spring projects on SA!!

We had about 10" of blizzard-conditions yesterday/last night. I got up this AM, and looked in the driveway to assess my work for the day to get the car out, and see this....

Image

You can clearly see bare concrete near the base of the trailer, even the whole wheel for the jack is still visible! It's like the boat is repelling snow with all it's might.

Too bad the rest of the drive/sidewalk didn't do the same. Keep in mind, we are only HALF WAY to spring. Last year we got about 2" on 1st day of spring.

This is by far the most depressing day so far this winter. We got 14" last night and its colder than all get out! Im surprised you keep your SS outside!

14" here in our suburb of Kansas City too, more than any other area of the metro. Right now there's a blindingly bright sun and 12F. Still, I do believe spring will be earlier this year since this winter's weather pattern has been all over the board - unlike last year, when it was like living in a freezer for 4 months.

I would say July 4th at the current rate of snow melt.

I guess full disclosure is called for here. They are forecasting 1-3" of snow in Houston for Thursday evening. Laughable for most folks but cause for widespread hysteria around here.

But by Saturday, back in the 50's. I'm planning another boating day.

Oh you guys to the South make me very happy and lucky. We to the North only got about 10" today. I had to shovel twice today, but things were relatively good. Boat season is coming!
