Well I'm sitting down in front of my computer and looking outside the window and seeing the snow come down.
I miss boating real bad.

I'm on board with this thought!

Forecast for today (on top of the 5-7 inches from yesterday):

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS... 9 TO 16 INCHES OF NEW SNOW WITH THE HIGHEST TOTALS FROM MILWAUKEE SOUTH TO KENOSHA.

* WINDS... NORTHEAST WINDS 25 TO 35 MPH WITH WIND GUSTS TO 50 MPH FOR TONIGHT.

* IMPACTS... REDUCED VISIBILITIES TO 1/4 MILE OR LESS AT TIMES DUE TO SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW... RESULTING IN TREACHEROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS. NEAR ZERO WHITEOUT CONDITIONS AND DRIFTS OF 4 TO 8 FEET POSSIBLE. TRAVEL TO BECOME DIFFICULT IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE. POTENTIAL FOR PARALYZING BLIZZARD WITH LIFE THREATENING CONDITIONS.

I'm sitting in a hotel room in Chicago right now, and I can't see my truck in the parking lot 6 stories below. I don't know that I've ever seen a storm like this. I can't wait for May!

Totally! No better in TX. 15 degrees this morning. Stuck at home the past 2 days due to ice on all the roads.

JDW250 come April you might want to jump into your boat with all that snow you folks got for flash floods. I think you guy's got hit with this storm the hardest. Look on the bright side we won't need to worry about the lakes being low this year.
In Ontario we only saw 1 foot instead of the 2 feet we where suppose to have had. Good luck down there.

Chicago got hit hard and made the national headlines, but my home in Southeast Iowa wasn't spared by any means with 17+ inches. My boat is now parked behind a 5' snowdrift. It won't be moving anytime soon.

Chicago got a bad rap nationally for all the people stranded on Lake Shore Drive. However, being in Chicago for during that storm, I was rather impressed at the work they did. On Wednesday at noon, I was able to make it from the hotel to our plant with relative ease. The main roads (at least on the Southside where I was) were almost 100% clear. Now the side streets were just starting to get cleared when I left on Friday, so people who live there may have a different view. But overall, I thought the city was decently prepared and tackled the storm well.

My boat dealer mailed me 2 tickets to the Mid-Atlantic Boat show in Charlotte NC-February 17th to 20th. Got them today when I was home from work. That's when I know winter is coming to an end soon!

I was working on the porch roof today. The heavy snow earlier was a burden, and the supports needed re-inforcement. It was about 50F and I could hear the trickle of water and see the last of the snow melting off the boat..... Summer can't be far off!

Well Boy's
I've got that itch. I went today to get some parts for my fishing boat that I purchased in October. Can't see myself fishing on my SS so I convinced my Wife I needed a fishing boat. She said yes so I made a mad dash to the neighbors cottage and bought his 16 foot Lund. Fastes purchase I've done in a long time. Just was worried my Wife would come to senses.
So next weekend it starts I get to start doing some work on the girl.
