I'm considering removing the stock tower that came with my boat. Am I just asking for trouble?? :shock:

Not trouble, but you are asking for holes in your boat that need to be sealed.

If you do, in fact remove your tower, we might want to bump this thread frequently as I have read a few inquiries about the huge cost of purchasing a factory tower vice alternatives. Pretty sure that there is at least one person on this message board that would love to buy your factory tower.

What is it you are not liking about the tower? Is it storage or actual use issues?

It's actually both, I would love to be able to collapse it easier, but it is also very noisy while on the water.

Do you have the reverse arch? Mine rattles alot on the water, I think i need new bushings for the front mounts, at least that will snug the tower down a little better. I might do the same for the rear mounts if they need it. The allen heads currently have a small (1/8 inch) piece of tube that was cut to use as a washer. It doesn't let the allen head seat properly on the tower and allows it to rattle.
