Any ideas on good cooking on the boat? We're a Vista 258 and mostly visit marinas, but I would like to keep the wife out of expensive restaurants if possible. I'm just learning to cook at home lately, as she had foot surgery and has been laid up.
We usually grill chicken or steak, make salads from a salad in a bag mix, and make some lipton packet noodles in a sauce pan. Makes for a easy, delicious, and complete meal.
For breakfast we precook potatoes o'brien mixed with sausage at home before we leave for the weekend(saves time but can all be cooked in the same pan). On the boat we put the pre cooked ingredients into a skillet, pour in scrambled eggs, and when eggs are cooked top it with cheddar cheese. Put it in a bowl, add redhot, and you have a one pan meal that tastes great.
Our dock neigbor cooks everything on the grill including homemade pizza's which are amazing! She even made sweet and sour chicken with fried rice yesterday...which I am eating the leftovers of as I type this....sooo I guess you can make anything you want with 1 burner, microwave and a grill.
