I never said he didn't know anything about boats or equipment. Geez... what's with you people.

Everyone get's a little cranky in the winter.

We got 18" of snow and went 4 days without power starting on Saturday night. Not to mention a tree fell on my boat. (minimal damage except for the shelter it was in), so I should be pretty cranky too, but I won't be.....

It looks like there's something that might help you out at the bottom left of the link that Chris gave you. (Labeled "Bimini Top Basics)

It might answer some of your questions before you unwrap. Good luck...I wouldn't be without one. 8)

No problem.

I would imagine the quality would be about the same, after all, it is just aluminium tubing and fabric. The nylon fittings are probably the same ones as well. Our factory convertible top has the nylon fittings, and there have been no problems.

I will get the measuring tape out and give you an idea of the floor to gunnel height, and we can see if 36" will be enough height. I still have to finish getting the boat ready for the winter, so I still have access to it.

I had mine custom made so it suits me perfectly. Some of the features I wanted were
1) Being able to stand under it without bumping my head(I am 6 ft tall)
2) Still able to see over the windscreen when the canopy is in position
hope this helps.

Mine is a Sunbrella - you can find their website and they used to have a boat identifier that provides you with the specs of your boat and you can make the decision from that....just keep in mind if they measue to gunnel you need to allow for a little wider frame to go outside the window frame.......plus the overall height clearance under the top will be different if they measure height based on gunnel height above deck.

Also - keep in mind if your top gets too close to rear sunpad when deployed then everyone climbing into boat will want to grab and hang onto the top frame.
