My new H190 has what appears to be a nice Faria unit but I have found it to be difficult to use/program. Fourwinns documentation is non-existant and Faria web site info was not very clear to me. Has anyone added a switch to dis-able? Maybe its just me trying to get used to setting it up.

Not sure if you found this, but here is the manual... http://faria-instruments.com/site_manuals/IS0091F.pdf

There's not really much to set up except for shallow or deep water alarms.

I would give $100 if there was a way to turn off the alarm after it sounds for shallow water. I can turn the alarm feature totally off, but it would be nice to shut it off after it first sounds. If the alarm feature is turned on, then once you reach shallow water you cannot stop the alarm and still get depth readings. I went so far as taking the depth display out of the helm to see if there was a way to put the alarm on a separate switch. No such luck.

I hear you, thanks my exact feelings as well. I may put a power switch to it, I know it defeats the purpose but I don't the insane beeping when you start up at the dock, I know i'm in shallow water. Risk is forgetting to turn it back on.
