2001 Horizon 170, actually bought it in late October, but it has been at the shop getting all the vinyl redone and I should get it back next week so I thought I would post it up now...the guy I bought it from gave me a free tune up, detail, impeller, and replaced a faulty trim switch and a 90 day power train warranty. Anyway here are the before pics. BTW it has the 3.0 VP and S/X outdrive and I had him remove the tower and fill in the holes...

I think the new vinyl will look great. Smart move on removing the tower too. On that size boat, I think you will enjoy it more without the tower. Congrats!

Sweet boat! Smart move on removing the tower, looked out of place. I can't wait to see the new pics.

I was just looking at the first pic. Standard trailer hitch? Does the trailer not have brakes or are they electric? Many jurisdictions would not allow any trailer above 2000 lb. without brakes. Personally I prefer electrics however my H180 trailer has disk surge brakes. Even with backup lockout, just don't stop on a downhill slope and expect to back up.

Yeah, standard hitch, removable though, no brakes, we don't have vehicle or trailer codes here in Oklahoma, no inspections or anything, as long as the trailer has round wheels and air in the tires we are good. and Yes I also have had a hell of a time with surge brakes, but they are simple to maintain anyways...

Congratulations, I would tell you its a great boat and you'll love it, but since I haven't had mine on the water yet I can't yet, but according to all the guys on this forum it is the case so I'll stick with it...haha

Well I got the boat back the other day and they did reupholster all the seats and the rear deck, but not the side pieces like I thought they would, but other than that not bad, they are even letting me wait until the spring to get the detail so it is perfect looking come time to show off to my friends! But when I parked it in the garage I noticed red fluid dripping out of the drain! The power steering reservoir is completely empty and there is a pool of fluid right in front of the drain! I checked for possible leaks and couldn't find any so I'm hoping they drained it for winterization and were lazy about it and didn't clean up?!?! Any way, I'll get updated pics of the seats and such in a few days!

There is a problem. They don't need to drain power steering fluid to winterize your boat. Maybe tgey knocked a line loose or something, but you need to call them on it asap.
