A couple of thoughts to add to all the great advice above:

1) Consider keeping an inexpensive dive mask on board in addtion to/instead of goggles - If you drop something and have to swim down further than 6 feet or so to get it, you'll get a "squeeze" with goggles and end up looking like you came out on the losing end of a fist fight (Most SCUBA divers will know what I'm talking about here).....If you dont see yourself ever being in this situation, then dont worry about it....

2) For any tools that don't float, consider attaching them to a wrist lanyard somehow.

Thanks for all the wonderful tips, I did get a mask as opposed to goggles, do they make masks with "Reader" Magnifiers ? I like the floating wrench idea or at least a backup one, because if your in 50 feet of water, and it drops half way through you're toast.

Yes, but I've never seen these in the inexpensive masks.....If you go to a dive store, you should be able to find a mask with replaceable lenses for vision correction. Nice to have, especially if you're also going to use it for snorkelling or diving!

If you get one of the big yellow plastic prop wrenches they do float, you can tie a string onto it to keep it from floating away if you lose your grip. Its a good idea to have a spare prop nut, thrust washer and castle nut with cotter pins incase anything winds up in Davy Jones's locker. Knowing how to change a prop is something every boater should know, but be safe, wear a lifejacket if its deep water, make sure the boat is anchored and if anyone else is on the boat,
TAKE THE KEYS OUT OF THE IGNITION......
