Overall, we did Elk Lake, Skegemog Lake, Torch Lake, Clam Lake, Lake Bellaire, Lake Charlevoix, Round Lake and Lake Michigan during our 12 days up there.

The All Stars of NW Michigan. Sounds like an awesome vacation.

And maybe 2nd team All Stars in N. Michigan are: Mullett Lake,Burt Lake,Pickerel Lake,Crooked Lake with honorable mention to Cheboygan River, Indian River,Crooked River.
We will be there in two weeks to visit them all. Then September for the "All Stars" :D

Yes. If you do those two teams you have, in my opinion, really seen the best of the the Lower Peninsula.

I will then argue that on your third trip to the area you must cross the bridge and experience the Les Cheneaux Islands.

You will get no argument from me on that one. We hope to do that next summer and try and visit your place as well.

Good to hear you had a great time and made it home safe.

Looks like one Four Winns owner had a bad time up there.
I saw this story the other day. Lots of rocks north of Charlevoix's pier.

And thanks to your advice, we stayed WAY OFF SHORE going around the point. There are some very large rocks just below the surface, so thanks for that safety tip !! Changing a prop due to a rock is one thing, fixing a hull is something I don't want to deal with.....

Back in the late 80s when the water was a lot higher we used to motor right up to the beach near the sand dunes and anchor. Always had to use a lookout on the bow to guide the driver arount the rocks. I know there are some the size of houses and just under the surface.
I wouldn't even take the chance up there today.
