I have 98 258 Vista and the water from the tank has a 'plastic' taste. I sanitize the system each spring (bleach, then rinse, then vinegar, then rinse) as well as occasionally during the season but the water tastes about the same right afterward. I tried a product called Sweetwater and it was of little help. I also have a travel trailer with a similar system and the water tastes fine.

Any ideas on how to solve the 'plastic' taste issue would be appreciated.

Thanks

have you tried filtering it?

Could it be the hoses?

And be sure the hose you're using to fill it isn't adding to the off taste. I just replaced mine because of that.

After sanitizing, use baking soda to freshen up the taste and smell of water.

I personally will not drink water out of system in both our boat or 5th wheel RV, I take a 1 or 2 gallon jug of drinking water to make coffee, ect.... Daily liquid comes in cans anyways! 8)

I did install a filter at the tap just like Brett, just in case.

Yep!!

Did you also clean the filter/screen that seats next to the pump? I didn't see it mentioned.

I use this, so far so good. I can't say its the best, but it works for me.

Hey Paul, this thread was from 2009, I'm hoping he got his water tasting better by now! Only reason it popped back up is some assclown spammer (a couple of other old threads have popped up because of him too).

I almost responded too until I saw the date....
