Just purchased a 2001 268 Vista with arch and radar. Does anyone have a suggestion where I should look for a boat cover ?

What kind of cover? Winter storage, mooring, etc?

Overtons has many as does West Marine. I think I got mine from West and it was a custom fit canvas cover. If snow loads are involved you need to build supports or get a Fisher's cover, the are made for winter storage.

The most common cover styles are towing, cockpit and winter.

One for towing a boat behind a trailer on the road. Lots of 'universal' covers are used for this. They're mainly designed to keep road grime off the boat and not much else. The don't typically cover a boat with an arch, at least not without being custom-made for the purpose.

A cockpit cover goes down to the base the windshield and over the open area of the whole cockpit. It is typically attached by snaps all the way around the cockpit area. It usually covers the area completely as to keep light and rain off the cushions, dash and the like.

A winter cover can either be for use in or out of water. And in-water winter cover will only come down to about 4" above the waterline. An out of water cover will usually come much lower, sometimes all if it's for a boat without bottom paint. These usually require a frame built under it to help the cover shed any snow that might accumulate.

The winter cover on my 248 weighs in at around 120 pounds. The cockpit cover is only 20-or-so pounds.

The boat may be stored on the water or the trailer in the winter. We do not get snow, but plenty of rain. My cover for my 21 foot open bow, kept the boat fairly dry during the winter. I think I would want a winter cover that I could use for mooring. I can't seem to find a custom cover that would cover the entire boat. There are some local guy's that make covers, I was looking for some options. Any suggestions ?

PG, this is what i have for my 2001 - 268: if you need something like this (waterproof and strong enough not to break every time you put it on or take it off, it opens on the back with 2 zips) you have to make it through those local guys that you're mentioning.

I have payed 1300 euros. it's done with Tempotest fabrics (UV resistant and waterproof, but leaves humidity go outside in the air)
