Does anyone have their 6.0 Crusaders hooked up to their C80 to display engine info? If so, what is your setup? Really would like to know if anyone has their 6.0 Crusaders with fuel flow sensors, and how they are having it displayed. Looks like the C80 is capable of displaying engine info...

Well looks like the engine needs NEMA2000 outputs or J1939, and the 2005 Crusaders do not have this.

So, now my questions is what is the cheapest way to set up a fuel flow sensor system, even if not displayed on the C80, and a different display? Exploring options with Maretron...

Have you looked into Lowrance fuel flow systems?

I've got the lowrance setup and i does a decent job. You're better of with a standalone setup anyway. I've posted about it before, but basically there's just not enough room on the chartplotter display engine data AND use it for chart functions. That and I don't think a C-80 can connect to the necessary network anyway. the E-series can and I have mine connected. But I never use the E-80 to show the info. Raymarine's databar and box sizing just doesn't set things up all that well. Lots of wasted white space instead of data.

tl;dr: get a lowrance setup instead.

Bill, also, do you have inboards? If so, can you please look at the thread I have about speed?
2005, 348 here as well with the Crusader 6.0 setup, I am on the Potomac, you on the bay or the river?

Basically just the in-line flow sensors, gps puck, some network wire and the gauge. You have to add the GPS puck (mine's up inside the arch) in order to get MPG because it's calculated based on speed over ground combined with the flow rate. The gauge can only use a NMEA2k GPS value and the Raymarine stuff won't bridge that. So a second puck is necessary.

Bear in mind there has to be enough room for the gauge. On the 348 there's only room enough for the 2" gauge, not the 4" one. If you're using the blank portion of the right binnacle, that is. The rest of my helm console has equipment so that was the only place available.

I have it and have found that once I found the sweet spot for flow rate and speed I don't bother using it anymore. Yeah, I can see the flow rate, and it does offer me a backup way to see GPS coordinates and speed, but I don't really use it.

So Bill, do you have inboards? If so, curious where you found your sweet spot to be with the fuel flow, and what is your speed and RPM's??
