I own a FOUR WINNS 240 HORIZON / YEAR: 2000 with VOLVO 5.7 GSI DUOPROPS and for the last 2 years I have been having constantly issues related to bad contacts, wiring, cables rusted etc.
I am thinking that perhaps is best to replace the wiring harness completely.

Is there a way to do this without expending a fortune?

You can try to contact Four Winns about a new harness. The problem I see is whether or not the new harness could be routed back where the old one gets removed. The boat building process is performed in steps and the harness will more than likely be one of the first so alot of the bulkheads, seating etc... will be in the way.

What happened to the harness? Did the boat ever sink, sit in salt water, sit outdoors undercovered? Has somebody else messed with the harness in the past? Something has to have affected the harness since most boats don't have this issue.
