A few weeks ago I had a dealership install my new throttle cable and fix anything questionable on my ski. The cable broke from the recall but yamaha wouldn't honor it, too old. I told the dealership I didn't want it back unless it was perfect, and I'll replace anything that needs attention. They assured me everything was golden. They replaced rusted clamps on the throttle bodies, all new exhaust gaskets, new throttle cable, cleaned the throttle bodies and injectors, etc. Bill was over $500 and told me it needs absolutely nothing.

20 minutes of runtime later tonight = Motor came apart at WOT. Oil starvation. The initial cause seems to be they didn't set the oil pump cable correctly that they replaced.

I'm bringing it back to the dealership tomorrow but I fear this will go into litigation.

Tonight I painted the white wheels on my blue trailer grey.

Looks better now. The white really stood out, kinda bothered me since I picked the boat up. It was an itch that needed scratching.

Installed six new Polk Audio 6.5" speakers. They sound and look much better than the 15 year old Sony speakers.

Figured how I am going to mount my Lawrance GPS. I am going with RAM Mounts and a 12V accessory plug.

Applied some duct tape to one of the trailer lights as the bottom part with the bulb and clear plastic for the license plate kept falling out. Temp fix until I buy some LED lights.

One of my docking lights is not working. The bulb is burned out. It is a GE fog light but because the bug eye part is a sealed unit they want $100+ for it instead of $10 for the just the bulb. I put it back in as-is but this winter I am going to find a way to get it open and replace just the bulb.

Best of all, finished refinishing the outdrive tonight. It was too late to take some photos but I will post some before & after photos later. It does not look like new but is many times better than before. Will look even better after the new decals arrive and I install the skeg guard. We'll spend some more time on it this fall after the boating season is over.

Tomorrow, I am going to check all fluids, install 26p props as recommended in the owners manual (had 22p). Fill up the fuel up on the way to the marina and then take it out sometime in the afternoon. Then take it out again Sunday and hopefully again on Monday as well.

Trip with the new boat went fine yesterday. Today will be spent putting it in the water, getting all our "stuff" on the boat, etc. We bought a grill and mount and had it installed at the selling dealer. Gotta buy some propane bottles and do some grilling. Kids want to tube but Lake Michigan is only 52 degrees, I'm staying dry inside the
boat!

Bringing ski to dealer right now. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll own up to their mistakes. Literally 15 minutes of riding after they tore it all apart, I don't believe in coincidences.

Terry, are you slipping the boat or trailering?

I know, I owe pictures. Too tired last night. I love my old truck but it is a rough, ride when towing that big a boat.

Trailering but we usually rent a slip at Eldean for the night or two. Since it is our vacation place we'd rather spend a little money and save time of in and out at the boat ramp each day.

I'm being told by several people to bring the ski to get inspected by a 3rd party and do not bring it back to the original dealership to have the analysis done.

Not sure what to do. I'm 99.999% positive I'm screwed either way and will be stuck in a court battle with the chance of losing another grand or two to a lawyer if I lose.

Ric, do not let anyone else touch your ski! Bring it to the dealer who worked on it and let them look. As soon as a third party touches it the original dealer has an opportunity to start dodging.

Talk to them, see what they want to do and go from there. If you don't give them the opportunity to investigate or make good you will be shooting yourself in the foot.

I brought it to the original dealer today, they're going to investigate but they acknowledged it could have possibly been an oil pump setting gone wrong. I really don't want to spend $$$$ for this crap right now I hope they come clean, I just want to ride.

We'll, quite an adventure with the new boat yesterday. Had a leasurely morning yesterday, went to breakfast, bought groceries, bought a new tube, etc. Had lunch and then went to get the boat from storage. Got to the boat ramp and both batteries are so dead they won't even move trim. Then I notice my truck is leaking coolant. Took truck and boat to the marina parking lot.

Bought two new group 27 dual purpose batteries and a new radiator cap. Installed new batteries and then radiator cap on truck. Then back to the boat ramp. Boat starts and truck is not leaking. Wife gets stuff for sandwiches on way to marina while kids and I drive boat there. Another boat is in the slip we were assigned. Had to wait for them to figure that out. Finally ate on the boat at 8:30.

Hopefully will get to enjoy the boat today!
