What are the best ways to keep mice away from/out of your boat during storage?

I will be storing my boat in a shed on a farm. They don't have a mouse "problem", but obviously, they are around. There are a few cats and they even have an electric rodent deterrent - one of those pulsing or sonic systems.

I have put fresh cab in compartments and under seats, and spread dryer sheets all over interior. What else, if anything, should be done? Poison, or anything else, around outside or boat? Anything different or additional on inside?

Recommendations welcome.

Thanks

I think you've got it nailed down, just make sure every possible opening into the boat is closed off as best you can. This includes the exhaust opening on the drive!

I always lay a perimeter of moth balls on the floor around my boat as well as the dryer sheets inside. Works like a charm!

You need a live-aboard boat cat:

Put a radio on a talk station radio station. The talking will help keep them out.

You should be good...just never put poisen in or on anything that you don't want mice in.....the poisen attracts the rodents....its a bait..what I do is put some bait stations on the outside of the storage barn...if mice are in barn they go out to get poisen..or....it gets them before they come in.

I have used the electronic deterrents and they're a waste....so is talk radio....sorry, but we've had mice run around our feet at the deer camp while we were playing poker. Cold weather will bring them in....if i was a mouse I would come in too.
