Last weekend a marina pumped about 13 gallons of gas into the waste tank instead of the gas tank.

Has anyone else every had this happen? Can the waste system handle fuel ? Damage the system?

Sorry to hear about your situation but if it makes you feel any better I can say it has happened before

I'm not 100% sure if it would harm the system or not. I think I would be very careful though about flushing the toilet unless you have a manual pump style toilet which I highly doubt on a 338. My guess is every situation is different and you just have to flush the heck out of the system and try it. I think the hose and tank could handle it but if it soaked any seals they might have swelled. Let us know the outcome and good luck

For the moment, I would pour in about 2 bottles of "Joy" the soap. The suds will take up the are space, so less like of it exploding. Than I would let the Marina deal with it and pay the cost of any damages.

Merry Christmas Sorry to hear about your situation .Dont know about refuel procedure where you reside. In my part of the woods it's mandatory to refuel your own vessel to reduce chance of this occurring .Seems to me person with nozzle in hand should make it good. :P

I always open the gas tanks myself when I pull in for fuel.
