Sorry Brett! Been distracted by my other hobby - relocating the fusebox in the supra to the hatch, and then prepping the engine bay to be shaved and painted.


I used the Lewmar contactor that west marine sells. It was in their catalog at the store. It was pricey - around $200 IIRC. Oh, I pulled the rode and anchor out today and you can freewheel it if you loosen up the clutch. It will spin free. I forgot to tighten it once this summer and would have lost the anchor and rode but I was only about 8 feet deep. I'm going to add a cleat underneath like you have.

Relocating the entire fuse box eh? Ehhhhhh that's a lottta work!

Thanks for the photos they help tremendously! Looks like the windlass hangs over the lip on the gelcoat for the anchor chute. Did you have any issues with it drawing down evenly? I was contemplating making a starboard riser to take into account that dip in the deck but I think it would raise the gypsy too high. I talked to one of my internet "buds" and he mailed me out a 95 amp Warn Winch waterproof contactor (double pole, double throw) free

Ohhh and I ordered the flexiteek! I am actually considering doing the entire cockpit, but for now just doing the platform. I am waiting back on a price for the whole cockpit (bet it will be 2K... ) $855 for the flexiteek, 40 to ship it.

Nice on the teek and that's cool about the contactor. i thought about picking a warn one up on ebay but it was a convenience thing when I picked up the windlass at west marine. man post some picks of the 'teek when it shows up! I wondered about the the unevenness underneath but I said the hell with it - it seemed solid and held up all season no problem. The gap for the anchor chute up top basically filled in with the 3M sealant. No big deal there either. I'm going to take a pic of where i mounted my breaker. pm me your number when you get a chance man, i wanna ask you about this water heater.

Change of plans with the teak I am doing the entire cockpit and swim platform. Travis from TT Custom Marine made me a heck of a deal, $1834.00 for the whole ball of wax. Trust me that's like a savings of 5K over what you would pay if it was OEM'd

He sent me a huge spool of clear mylar and a sharpie, I am making the rough templates. I have 90% of the swim platform laid out, I just need to get the transom curve (that part is a bit tricky). Once that's done I need a good day without rain and decent working temps so I can pull the covers back and template the cockpit. This is going to look AWESOME when it's done! (I know Bill won't agree but I am a flexiteak ho!)

I also snagged an amplified Radioshack Over The Air HD Antenna on ebay (waterproof) and a friend at work gave me his Panasonic Direct TV ATSC/NTSC HD Sat Receiver since he's upgrading. I am going to see how well over the air HD works this summer, if that don't work I will just pick up a portable marine Sat Dish and get a Direct TV HD Subscription.

Hmm what else... Oh yeah, my semi-custom boat cover showed up this past week. I ordered the cover from http://www.discountboatcovers.com it's made by Carver covers it's an 8 Oz. Solution Dyed 600x600 Denier Nyon in black and made to fit the boat. It fits very well, I did have to remove my fender baskets and my bow searchlight but that was easy as pie. It coveres all of the black gelcoat which is a nice touch as the black is more prone to fade.

I will post photos when I get the product and get it laid out. The problem that I am having is that the boat is outside... Outside = cold and miserable which makes it hard to get the templating done. And when the templates are done and I have the decking in my hands, I still can't put it down! It needs to be at least sixty degrees out for the bostick adhesive to cure. *grumbles* maybe I will luck out and get an indian summer.
