[quote="TX H210SSsume your saying the switch for the blower stays powemaon but don't know how that powers entire boat. accessories bypass battery switch. The bilge should stay live.....right??[/quote]

With this wire undone, the blower and nav lights don't work. With wire hooked up even with battery switch off the boat is powered.

Im thinking a resettable breaker or 2 is bad and someone ran 12v to a main line bypassing them cause they were idiots. I thought it was the bilge power wire.

Update:

New stereo and speakers in.

Infinity sound Good!!! They sound a little brighter/clearer than the Polk, I like them better. Just as I suspected, the Kenwood deck doesn't need an amp to sound proper. Good bass, doubt I need a sub. Maybe in the future. I need to talk to Marinaire tomorrow to verify the power requirements and then I'll order it all up. The idiot that wired the radio that was in the boat should be shot. He had the speakers to the JVC remotes (original), etc. Speakers were connected by twisting the wire to the connector. Horrible. That's why nothing worked. I'm giving the setup to my buddy his boat needs a decent headunit/speakers they should all work fine. I fixed the running lights issue and now all that's left is the blower. He ran a wire from the battery positive to the positive on the blower. I'm guessing the breaker is bad, that's tomorrow's project. Very simple to undo that kludge and a local shop has the aircraft breakers. PS, Chaparral has the nicest boat wiring I've ever seen. It's made like an automotive harness using weatherproof automotive connectors all perfectly done in wire loom.

The Infinity coax's are indeed, much brighter sounding that the Polk's! :(
Polk have invested in a more natural sounding silk/ poly tweeter.
Each to their own, but I can not stand the tiresome ear bashing of a titanium tweeter.
Interested to hear your thoughts after prolonged loud listening sessions.

Goodbye $1800!!! Just ordered the Marinaire Micra 6000 btu reverse cycle AC, install kit, pump, and 1000w pure sine inverter. Since they are a Florida company I should have it by Friday.

Going to call my Deka battery supplier down the road and see what they got laying around for 220-260ah 6v batteries. The HOA said I can plug in to charge occasionally

A before pic of the interior, I hope to maybe have it recovered by this weekend.

I didn't hear the doorbell for the delivery of the AC system! (sig required) I have fedex dropping it off at the closest fedex store, I don't want to play a game of tag.

How much was the inverter? My 800 watt inverter will not run the 750watt microwave I just bought. Need to make sure the blender is ready for summer also :D

I purchased the whole package from Marinaire. Ac, pump, install kit, inverter. They sell it separately and to be quite honest it's a good deal for 1000w pure sine with 2000w surge.

http://www.marinaire.com/1000W_DC_Inver ... 00-112.htm

For those that are wondering, it's the same physical size as Dometic's DC Cuddy kit as seen on Ship Shape TV. Dometic's DC Cuddy AC is only 3500 BTU, no heat, and $2800. The Marinaire Micra is 6000 btu, reverse cycle, $1800, and draws roughly the same power. Dometic doesn't have digital controls or humidity control, the Micra has digital controls and remote control, and also has humidity control. The choice was clear.

I'm interested in the Kenwood deck you bought, I like the fact that it doesn't need an external amp, but I don't need the Bluetooth hookups. Does Kenwood make a deck that has the internal amp but no Bluetooth?

$200 is a good price for 1000W pure sine wave, but West Marine has Modified Sine Wave 1000W for $110. I wonder if it's worth the difference.

You always want a pure sine, otherwise electronic things don't work very good.

AC install seems simple enough, but I will be having some help. I gotta see how many gods I have to pray to so I can get the power/water hose from the rear of the boat to the front. Once that's done it's simple. Drill a few holes, run a few wires, hookup a water line or 2. Most of the labor will be spent custom making an enclosure. I found the little duct items like a 4" T and closeable vents. I'm going to pass one through to the helm area so on a hot summer day I can cool the cockpit/my legs.

Might seem like a lot of money, but when you live in Florida A/C is a must have if you want to spend nights on the boat when the lows are in the 80s.
