I bought mine with them and at first I didn't use them. The top would catch air under it and try to fold up. Once I put them on it settled down and now instead of trailering down the highway with it resting on the gunale flopping around, it rides nice and steady in the air with the boot on. Make me feel better.

exactly how i feel.. i can lay mine down forward in front of the Shield.. and that is the position i have it in for now to give more room in rear while working and the cover is on..

the thing i like about the hard rear supports is the rigidity and ability to trailer without banging around

Well today got a few things done before the sun set. Snaked the new transducer wire, oil pressure, engine temp, start lock out for ACR. And an additional string for any future wire pulls.

Well today was sucessful.

Organized engine bay wires a bit more. After the 3rd battery box,
Installed flush mount main power switch.
Made control panel for the ARC, main ground buss bar, and reservable breaker for the audio Amps.
New waterpump assembly
Drained the foot oil- it looked perfect no milk, no metal in the oil when i rub between fingers.
Pulled drive, replace the seals, bellows, gimble bearing.
More work to come tomorrow. The drive will get a scuff and prime then paint before it is reinstalled.

This morning was chilly 46* after this storm that rolled thru was 70 all last week. Uuuh. So I pulled the boat from beside the house to be in the sun in the driveway and to make it easier to pull drive. Well the side by house settled I guess from all the rain past 2 weeks. I have to put it in 4wd to not tear up the lawn the tire was sunk to the rim. Well the hole is filled now and compacted. And I got 2 16"x16" pavers to park the trailer on.

Very nice work.
With the Cobra impeller, when you first run it on the hose, leave the big plastic cover off and check for water leaks around the impeller housing and wear plate and pull off that little hose momentarily to make sure that water is squirting out. Water leaks around the housing can cause air leaks on plane and reduce water flow and the little hose helps the impeller prime. If its a new housing it will be fine but older ones sometimes get clogged up. Still one of the best impeller designs.

Oh today I pulled the gimble bearing with the slide hammer. Took about 8-10 slides and was out. Science class heat expands cold shrinks. New bearing in deep freeze for about 5hrs. 2x2 couple wacks with hammer once Greece hole aligned. Boom installed easy easy. Sanded the drive, had to file on the skeg as it had some ships so I got it re shaped. I did not take it all the way down to the bare metal as the factory uses good aluminum oxide etching primer so I removed the chipped areas and smoothed. Then I shot fresh aluminum oxide etching primer after I masked it all. And the new bellows are installed.

After the primer I skimmed the drive with bondo in the gouged and scratched areas. Let if dry then sanded smooth as glass, no more drag now.

Got up this morning and shot entire drive with base primer. Only saw 2 minor spots that will need light sand and a touch up prime and she is ready for topcoat.

No that's a wet coat of hard enamel black. Will get 2 mor coats in addition to the coat I put on about an hour ago. Then clear, then wet sand and wax.
