Everyone seems to be naming their boats....

I've never named anything before, no idea where to start. I feel like my cuddy could use one it's large enough in my eyes. Plus I like having the city/state of your hometown on the back.

Is there a modern database of names? I've seen stuff on iboats and whatnot but it's like some crusty 70yo sailer made the list.

Since our Funship is a "deck boat"..........I want to name it "Big Deck'............but, the Admiral is not in favor.........

I was looking at it thinking about a new name for my next boat when it arrives. But Im pretty stuck on the name I have....think I will just change my current boat name a little or put a "Too" on the end.

I think you are approaching this wrong....People don't name Boats. They name themselves! What is your boat telling you she should be named?

Mine said and I quote...

"PSST...Hey Chris, your wife and girls are going to get upset with the amount of time you want to spend with me so include them. Let them see that everytime you are with me...you are thinking about them, name me after them. Happy wife (and kids) = Happy Life"

But then again maybe I am just the Boat Whisperer?

I think your name should have a meaning or story behind it. Our's is Nauta Dream...this is from when i told my wife that i wanted to buy a boat she told me to dream on so.....we didn't name our first boat so we are now onto Nauta Dream 2.
