I have my boat for the last year and its seems that when I try to make a right reverse the boat does not respond.It just keeps going straight reverse.When i want to reverse on the left the boat responds perfectly.Does anyone know what the problem might be?Thank you very match.

Need a bit more info....engine, twins, outdrive...etc

You sure its a twin prop? You just described every single prop boat made. If you stab the gas for a half second it will respond to the turn.

Don't pay too much attention to the man behind the curtain or above for that matter.

I think you have the GXI part wrong. I had the same boat, 270Hp , 2007. With the dual prop composite drive. I had no problems at all, even at "idle".

Are your trim tabs up? If your starboard tab was down, that would make sense. Are both props turning? When you say right, you mean starboard? So the drive is moving all the way starboard, yes? Because you only mentioned reverse not forward too.

Its the gxi for sure.if i want to reverse towards the starboard the boat just reverses straight.I have no problem with forward movements.I ve checked the trim tabs they were up.Checked also the probs and both are turning properly.

Got me. Is sound like in reverse, a prop is not turning and the prop walk is keeping you from turning.

he stated it turns fine to port in reverse, just a problem starboard in reverse.

check to make sure the drive swings pretty equal to full luck each way and take a measurement from a point of reference. if your drive isnt going to the starboard as much as port I would start there.

I had a problem where mine wasnt going to port even close to the opposite way and it wouldnt turn good evough. I found that after the prior owner had some meatball replace the PS Rack and the steering cable, they never matched it up to the original so I had to modify the cable holder assembly at the rack to allow it to move one inch more which made the difference on the outside.

I actually cut the end and pressed a nylon sleeve inside to match the cable rod to ride in. works great now.
