I have a 2007 Nissan Titan SE 4x4 but don't tow. Here is a good forum and thread to do some research: http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-t ... -pics.html.

If you don't care for domestic then GM products are your choice..opening plants in Communist China and have already negotiated with Chinese government managed auto workers union for cheap labor...there ya go!

Personally a F150 is hard to beat....I went the Ram 1500 route...both of these and the Tundra have plenty of tow power and I've owned all three. Tundra MPG sucks buttermilk compared to others of similar HP ratings.

The Nissan may be good too, but have never been in one so no advice there.

Well, Jan says the Tundra towed the space shuttle, so... yeah.

I'm going to dream about owning a 2007 5.7 Tundra tonight but 13k is a little more then I wish to spend.

Never know I might find a deal, cash talks. I've been lucky with boats.

I used to pull with an '07 Titan that the ex's parent's had until I bought my '07 Sierra. I didn't care for the Titan as it was spinning some pretty high rpms while towing compared to my truck. I actually think that I preferred towing with my Dad's '96 Silverado over the Titan even. Just my 2 cents.

TRD sells a supercharger kit to make it 504hp.

Now I just have to find a 2007 2wd 5.7 white tundra "double cab" short bed that isn't flex fuel. If my car ever sells. Down in Miami I could find one for 11 with cash I'm sure about that. Its a very popular combo that I see everywhere for 13 at dealers. Titans are nice but I'll always regret not getting the Tundra.

The waiting game begins.

Maybe its just me, but I would never pull without a 4X4 tow vehicle. I have been on some slick ramps, both fresh and salt water. Being able to shift into 4X4 when needed it worth the extra cost. Plus we drive oversand on some beaches and they are great in the snow. I have seen 4X2s get stuck on ramps many, many times at low tide and needing a tow truck.

I'll pass on 4wd. If things get slick just lower tire pressure. That's how I did it living in Maine with a 2wd Cherokee. Never stuck in snow once.

A friend of mine had a 2005 Titan to tow his 26' Essex. He ran his mouth for about 15k miles until it fell apart. He hated that thing within a few years. I had good luck with the F150 and now pull with a 13 Suburban. Go with the Chevy!

Agree 100%

I always put my truck in 4x4 when backing down the ramp so that when I put it in park and the parking brake is on my front(dry) wheels are locked in front and no chance of sliding backwards.

I have seen it happen at low tide to a few using vans and 2wd trucks

Tundra is a great truck...oversized differential and discs plus built in antisway design. Hard to argue with Tundra selection. The 5.7 is plenty of power but nontowing MPG isn't good. Boosting HP and torque on this or any other model is foolish...you will exceed the tolerances of peripheral components....like the tranny.
I did this with a cummins and trashed a $ 5,000 transmission.

The AW tranny that is in any Toyota truck is strong enough to take a ton of abuse. With all my years at Toyota I have only seen a small amount go bad like maybe 3 in the past 8 years.
Beat away it will take it

I will agree that the 5.7 doesnt need any boost its plenty powerfull

I have to agree on the 4x4 issue. I've been on some steep ramps where if I didn't have 4WD I would have been in trouble....and I know because I started out in 2WD and that's with brand new Michelin's!

As far as the Tundra I am absolutely in love with mine. It tows our 268 fully loaded with 2 weeks worth of gear and food with no problems!
