Good day - we have a new to us 268 - working well - one thing we found was that a previous owner must have started the job of hooking up 4 speakers on radar arch - we are assuming they are not the standard - the reg. speakers work well- they speaker wire ends in the compartment above the aft cabin. (have to remove the panel on ceiling of cabin to see).
Any suggestions as to how to hook these speakers into the system ? I am assuming that earlier owner got that far and could not figure out where to hook in - though who knows- could be other reasons.

BTW - just returned from a 19 day river/ canal cruise - eastern Ontario - the boat performed well and we were very comfortable in it - just no blaring music to disturb the loons.

No experts are answering this question so I will have a go. At the back of your stereo head unit (the radio) you will find a wiring harness that includes power leads and wires for 4 speakers. The manual for the unit will identify the wire colour codes. There will be two wires for front left speaker, two for front right, etc. Additional speakers can be spliced in to these wires but there are some issues with power.
The wiring harness setup is explained very well here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYcriAl4CTM
The same company have a web site and the power issues for multiple speakers are discussed at http://www.rocktheboatmarine.com/install.html under "power considerations and wiring methods".
How many speakers? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZDqzfolN0Q suggests putting in an additional amplifier for extra speakers.

Thanks - good information and resources- I can see how the previous owner might have started and then realized what he had gotten into
