I have everything on the boat working except for a charging issue, feels like a major accomplishment and couldn't have done it without the help of the forum. The toilet issue was fixed with Costco enviromentally friendly dish soap, it got everything lubed up and flowing and it works perfectly now. I never would have thought of that.

My remaining issue is battery charging under power. New batteries, new alternator, but batteries read 12.7-12.9 while under power. On shore power they read 13.9-14.2.

I checked after the mechanic replaced the batteries at the marina, and the inboard battery has the feed to the starter. I thought the battery closest to the port side hull was the starting battery. In short, I'm not confident they are hooked up correctly, but my owners manual does not have a clear schematic for the wiring of the batteries and the selector switch.

Does anyone have or can point me in the direction of a schematic?

Thanks for all the help so far! Now if only Lake Erie and the damn wind will cooperate...

check on how much voltage is exiting the alternator....sounds like a bad alt to me.

one of the wires should be higher voltage than battery voltage while running

Where are you checking voltage? The isolator will have about a 1 volt drop over it, the gauge always reads low. If the alternator output is good then start checking the wires back to the batteries, if it goes through the battery switch check the connections there a loose or corroded connection will have a huge effect.
