i got the new Head Unit installed last night and had a little jam session re tuning the amps to the new radio.. I love the BlueTooth connection.. i need to test distance, but it was seamless on the entire boat.. All i can tell you is night and day clarity with the 4v Powered RCA outs.. this boat was the first time i have ever used a speaker wire to RCA converter and it will be te last.. in all of the stereos i have installed over the years WOW first hand this is biggest sound difference.. good EQ processor and powered outputs brought this boat stereo up to par with my car stereo.. i am so ready to hit the water..

PROP is due in today..

Ok went to install the new bilge after "date night" as the wife calls it but basically it's every Friday we go to the same local spot lol. Ok so after I got the screws out of the factory plate. (Let me tell you that was a pain in the rear) well got the new base plate screwed down. And we'll I overlooked the diameter of the outlet compared to the factory hose 3/8 vs 1.125" we'll I now have new stainless 1 1/8" thru hull fitting ordered will flow more water and look a lot sexier.

I guess the factory bilge crapped out bc of all the gunk and crap inside the pump and one the wires corroded and broken. Ill fix that with solder and heat shrink.

I see we use the same gloves, this is me pointing to the inner or actually the outer screw to the VP dual prop setup. What a royal pain in the arse that thing was to get out.

well i did a Fo wood finish stain and paint on a friends new fiberglass front door over the weekend and got a nice AUTO Halon bottle system for my engine bay with auto deploy and electric engage.. I felt it was a good deal for both of us.. i will have to build or find a mounting bracket.. but a nice safety feature to add to the engine bay.. the bottle will get cleaned up and some wax to make it shine..

As old as that unit is, I would not trust it 100%.

I'd trust it. As long as the burst vial is still intact with the fluid inside, it will work. There are sprinkler systems that have been in place for 50+ years with that technology that have worked reliably. The only reason that model ceased to be manufactured was due to the halon 1211 ban. The "electric gauge" you refer to is actually a switch that opens when pressure falls below a certain level in the bottle. Halon 1211 will have the media (1211) and a propellant (likely nitrogen). As long as there are no visible defects on the bottle and nozzle, you should be fine. The only thing I'd check is that it will be adequate for the engine compartment volume that you are dealing with. One can find that data online.
