Straight up gasoline is the real culprit. People just like to blame their lack of maintenance on whatever the new witch in town is instead of taking personal responsibility for not taking care of their vessel. Gasoline leaves a film of varnish that clogs all the holes and passages of a carb. That's why you have to "rebuild" them. Ethanol does not leave any deposits or films. A modern carb (in the last 15 years) with viton rubber parts is 100% impervious to 100% ethanol if need be. Ethanol does have a greater ability to absorb water out of the air, but to a semi active boater this is not an issue. The only real advice to people that run their engine once a month is well.. there is none. Nothing is designed for that. Ethanol will absorb water and gasoline will varnish your fuel system.

Check this link for some stations that still carry e-free gas. There is even one at Halls Crossing.

The link is for Utah, but the site lists for all states.
The other downside I've found with ethanol is that it evaporates so much easier that if you are prone to a vapor lock issue, it compounds it.

Thanks, I have that app (phone) and site (PC) in my bookmarks. I noticed the halls crossing as well, why only one of the 5 marinas?!?! LOL, that seemed odd....when they are all run by the same concessionaire.

Problem I have found, can be difficult to get boat to these stations and/or pump to get the gas, boat is so tall and with crewcab long bed, makes for such a long rig that I cant go just any where. I do take gas cans and fill for other toys!

I would bet that the reason Halls Crossing would be different is its location. The deliveries would come from the south unless they put the trucks on the ferry from Bullfrog. Just a thought.
