Wife (and I, although that's not important) are interested in switching over to a sailboat. Boat is in excellent condition with lots of extras. Currently slipped in Annapolis, MD. Asking $54,000. 100 hrs on Volvo duo-prop. Extras include full camper canvas, cockpit cover, sun pads, GPS, fire suppression etc.) Will also throw in portable A/C unit that has worked well for us on this boat as well as LCD TV/VCR. Willing to make good deal for end of season purchase. Can send pics on request.

Boat sale fell through last year due to financing difficulties. We still have that dream of moving over to a sailboat. Ask price is now $49,000. Compared with others listed on boattraderonline, I believe this is a pretty good deal. I'm willing to listen to all offers though.

Yes. That's part of it. But there's also that "no sound but the wind in the sails" thing and the desire for a little more beam.

Bump. Still for sale. Will make a good deal for someone who wants to take delivery at the begining of the season. Currently located in MD.

I'm afraid what would happen if we tried to sell our 268. Visions of giving it away just to get rid of it have kept me from even attempting to list it. Good Luck with yours.

Price reduced to an even $40K. Based on comps available on boattrader etc., this is a steal. Includes slip thru end of 2008 in Annapolis.

Liquidity, are you planning on buying the Sailboat from a dealer? If so, you may be able to get a better deal on a trade. I have not posted here in a while, because I traded my 2004 268 Vista in on a 34' Mainship Trawler this past August. After making the deal on the MAinship w/o the trade, I went back and asked what he would give me for a trade, and he gave me a # I was happy with, which was $45K. Then on top of that before we were done, he took a little more off the MAinship, and I was satisfied that I got the best deal I could on the MAinship and a very fair trade on the Vista. Give it a shot.

Best of Luck.
Jim.

ps. I hope the forum members do not mind that I posted here given I traded in my 4Winns. HAving been a 4 Wiins owner for over 13 years, I still feel attached to Four Winns. Then today, I got a phone call from a freind on this board asking me where I have been. That got me thinking of checking in. Regards to All, Jim.

Just because you sold your Four Winns doesn't mean that you don't have advice or helpful information to give. Keep on posting :D

Hi Jim:

Thanks for your tips. We may very well try the same route you went. The only problem is that we are not looking to buy a sailboat that is enough of an incremental price difference that the dealer would be inclined to do it. If we were to buy a sailboat for around 80K or so, many if not most dealers wouldnt be interested in taking a trade for more than 1/2 of that amount - I know, I've tried.

In any event we are starting to become resigned to holding onto the Vista for another year or so. I could think of worse things though - we still really love the boat.

Anyway, thanks for your input and I agree with Buzzcut, please keep on posting.
