I just found this online.

They are in Canada (fine with me, I,m Canadian).

Looks like it has many answers for part numbers and sourcing too.

That is esp good if you have an OMC but keep in mind that the parts are all aftermarket GLM.

You could go right to the source also:

http://shop2.evinrude.com/Index.aspx?s1 ... 0&siteid=1

Select "Stern Drive" from the drop down on the upper left.

Yup. All Four Winns built in 1988 had OMC drives or outboards (Johnson/Evinrude). 1988 was the first model year that Four Winns was owned by their first corporate parent OMC.

Evinrude (now owned by BRP) is the only remaining entity from the original OMC and BRP has been gracious enough to continue to support the OMC stern drives with at least limited parts supplies.

I have a friend who's an engineer at BRP in Quebec... Might be able to leverage that connection !

Thanks for the info.

Maybe you can convince him that the OMC Cobra design is far superior to the Merc Alpha (it is better actually in some ways, ie easier repair of bellows, impeller, larger gears, holds more oil, not prone to wearing out hinge pins) and that there are many of them still running but the owners want OE parts not lower quality (sometimes) aftermarket, esp lower and upper gearsets.
