I think once the tank is cleaned, you should not have future issues. After my one season of issues from that, one carb rebuild then, its been fine really and I have the OE 25 year old gas tank. The real question is, can ric even get non E10 gas? You sure as hell can't here, its E10 or Diesel....and at our gas docks all you can buy is 93 octane (fine by me I'd rather pay more than worry about detonation)....

Well, the 3ft of rubber fuel line was rock solid and looked to be flaking in the inside that I saw. Replaced it. Boat runs like new again but only got an hour or so on it since replaced.

We'll see what the future has in store.

Still runs good. Fuel line it was. Running a little lean still can randomly hear some pinging. Can't change jets in a mercarb. Might be forced to use non-ethanol gas til I change carbs..

Well, the manufacturers don't make things easy for a carb engine I'll tell you that. Electric fuel pump, no regulator. Carburetor that you can't change jets on. No fittings for fuel pressure gauges. Are they trying to purposely make these things run bad? It pains me to have to spend over a grand in correct OEM replacement parts that allow such things as basic troubleshooting and tuning.

I was born in the USA but my mother was a French-Canadian citizen at the time of my birth (still is). Just had to fill out some paperwork.
