Those we lost...God be with them and us all. Today marks another year they and their families were cheated.

Nobody is going to forget it's documented quite well, we don't need a reminder.

There would be reminders every damn day if it were up to me.

Being on the other side of the globe, a reminder is a nice thing to see.
This time 12 months ago, I was at Ground Zero. A very humbling experience. :(

Just when I thought I'd heard everything. :x

Remembrance of our fallen is something I'm quite proud of. God bless America!

I am only about 35 miles from the city...things I recall from that horrible day...hearing F-18s swoop out of the sky, military helicopters flying right overhead...and the next day....the horrible stench of the air...from the plume of pollution of toxins that blew south over Brooklyn and then east over Long Island...and stories told by first responders...yet the risks now are just as great...

I must admit I thought Ric's post was at best inappropriate, at worst offensive, He's maybe young enough ( mentally, or in life) that he does not yet realise the magnitude of what happened to those people and their families on that day. Here in the UK, far remote from New York it was a very sobering experience to first hear of what happened on the car radio on the way home from work, then to see it on TV, Horrifying, it must never be forgotten and reminders for this and other atrocities should always be welcomed. If we are not reminded, if we choose to forget history and not to remember/ learn. , it will be repeated. ( in my opinion of course, I am seldom right now according to my 22 year old daughter !)

I just think it's insulting to say "never forget" to the people that paid the price. We're not going to forget. Have you met anyone that doesn't remember?

What is very sobering, is if you see a movie with NYC scenes pre-911, and you see the towers in the background...Having grown up there, the feeling you have to those who would hurt your city & thousands of innocent people that way is hard to describe. Maybe 2-3 generations of raw utter hatred, beyond what any reasonable person might ever feel sums it up. I like what they did with the memorial and new tower, it is really well done. But I felt that I would have liked the towers rebuilt exactly the way they were from the outside with a few differences, ie much stronger, less open space, and a permanent anti aircraft installation on top. Yes such installations were common all over the New York area during the cold war you just never saw them.

Beyond that the way to deal with terrorism from that part of the world, is to embark on a full alternative fuels program. So widespread that we don't need any oil from that part of the world. If they do not control the problems that start there, then we buy NO oil. If they starve, they will deal with it. We built the ultimate weapon of mass destruction and the aircraft to deliver it in less than 8 years. This plan for stability should be easy by comparison.....

This time of year when the channels play different documentarys on that terrible day is very important to me and I still watch them even if I saw them before. Its also important for our youth to see it especially if they were too young to see it when it unfolded
A young man who lived only a few houses away was in one of the planes that struck the towers. So its always fresh in my mind every time I see his mother walking her dog. Even so its always important to show remembrance this time of year.

Ric I just think your wordings sometimes come off a little rude
