No you are not being too cautious Graham...why not go with tried and true straight inboard shaft drive? Yes the IPS has all the cool electronic control systms....great when its new...but....what happens over time....how much to all those ECM's and actuators cost....give me straight shaft drive mechanical controls like every work boat in the northeast salt water environment and they last decades....
