What does everybody think of this new option? Do you think it would add to the appearance of the boat? It isn't an expensive option, but is it something that you would really ever use?

I think it looks pretty cool, seems more like fluff then anything useful. Not sure I would pay the price that is asked but have been thinking about the effort/cost to do something similar on my own.

My 240 has 5 pods of LED's off the swim platform. each pod has a set of LED's. Now - I've dealt with LED's on my Harley as well... For the price of this option - it was a no brainer for me. I do plenty of evening boating and I wanted it for accent lighting - not because I expect any sort of fantastic light show.

Seriously... it's a couple hundred bucks.... some people will spend for it... some will use that money to fill up their gas tank.

I figure in a couple years when I go to sell, that mid 20's kid looking for his first boat will be excited that he found a boat with LED's to light up around the swim platform.

If you don't use your boat at night... they are probably useless.

I use my boat at night. :D

I agree with Cougar - they'll be impressive to the 1st time buyer who eventually buys your boat. For the rest of us, they could be a nice accent for night cruising (night boating is the best!) but they have no practical purpose.

I agree with Mike and Cougar.... Neat, but would you use them??? Now lighted cup-holders, on the other hand..... the USCG will deem them a neccesity on future boats! FYI they only come in electric blue, about $30 ea, wired individual (no batt's to replace!).
