Does anyone know the standard colour numbers for the red and white gelcoats used on 2004 Sundowners ? There were some very nasty gusts of wind today when the boat was being lifted, the highest gust occured just at the worst time of course and it was pushed midships onto a nasty corner of the lifting rig; being steel, it came out best ! The first damage caused by me in 9 years of ownership, I knew I should have refused to follow the marina's instructions to reverse it in against such a strong, gusting cross wind ! Still, damage done, time to move on.

Hi Graham,

You can also get it from www.spectrumcolor.com, they have a "search by boat" tool. Although, at the moment it appears their site is down.

If anyone needs a patch paste kit in Malibu Yellow, I have one that they sent me accidentally. :)

Now it's back. Looks like:

Although they seem to only have the red in gallons at about $500US. :) No problem, right?

Thanks guys,

I think at USD500 for a gallon, plus probably about half as much again for shipping, plus the 20 % or so the UK Inland Revenue tax thieves will want ( for doing nothing), it doesn't really make any sense. So, it'll be a local "close as we can get" colour match and if it's bad, a new set of graphics ( an Elastoplast with "ouch" written on it with permanent marker might be a bit too obvious)

I think it's odd that they don't have that red in patch paste (couple of ounces). It might be worth giving them a call to see if they're just temporarily out. Although, I will tell you the one time I spoke with them on the phone they were downright rude. Customer service is not their forte but they do have a great reputation for product.
