Led anchor light

Looking to replace my anchor light bulb with a led one , looking for a good price and part number, i have a 2000 268 with light on radar arch. ( boat is not at home so i cant look at the bulb)

When you purchase an LED bulb make sure it produces the correct lumens. Usually the white light is rated for 2nm or about 14 lumens or 1.1 candela. Either way, installing an LED light in an incandescence fixture for navigational purposes is not USCG approved so keep that in mind. Many vendors sell USCG approved LED navigational lights, I've used the Attwood products they're very high quality and not expensive at all if you shop smart.

I've thought about doing this as well. Need to open mine up and see what bulb is in there now.

I had heard this before on the forum so last summer when I wanted to switch my light to LED I decided to call the Coast Guard to verify this. The officer said the brighter the better and thought someone saying "too bright" of an LED in an incandescent fixture was ridiculous and laughed about it. That was all I needed to hear so I swapped it out. Flyer51 found some LED's that worked great and we split a pack of them so maybe he remembers were he picked them up at...they definitely cured my anchor light envy I suffered from for the first half of summer

If I remember correctly the original bulb in your anchor light is a 921

Yep, switched both anchor and bow nav lights to LED. Both from Attwood on the WalMart website.

The anchor light IS very bright, much brighter than the old bulb. Its so bright, I don't even need all my fancy LED strips I installed along the underside of my side storage compartments.

I advise to get a fairly tall anchor light pole. The attwood LED is annoyingly bright. Like.. blinding. If it's too short when you stand up you'll be in pain. I made that mistake on my first boat.

The purpose-built anchor lights are preferred. The lens makes it so they don't spill light down on the deck. So, unless that's what you want, I'd get an Attwood that has the LED in it already. The only ones you really have to worry about getting purpose-built LED fixtures are the nav lights; they are required to be a specific pattern, and the best way to ensure that is by getting a purpose-built lamp.

Thanks for the info, hoping a led up there will help with the battery draw( i usally leave the light on all night when were sleeping on the hook)

It will indeed. The stock bulb will draw about 18 watts or so; the LED will probably draw only 2-4 watts depending on what you put in there to replace. Don't skimp; the anchor light is required at all times between dusk and dawn. It would suck to be run into due to not having proper illumination.

The attwood LED anchor light draws 1.8 watts and has a 10 year warranty. Heck, had one fly out two years ago to the bottom of the lake and attwood replaced it for free.

Sounds good, attwood sounds like the way to go. Leds all around this spring trying to cut down on battery use on the hook.

I replaced the socket/bulb in my existing anchor light stalk with LED socket/bulb from Autozone. Can't remember the price. But I replaced all my lights with LED's. Amazing difference in voltage draw. Can stay out all day, playing music, charging phones, etc and not worry about dead battery.

I think those were just turn signal LED bulbs. They cost $3.29 plus $ .99 for shipping. After I put that in I had people tell me they knew our boat because the anchor light was so bright. I'm sure you can get them anywhere. I have a box full of different ones because some of them come a dozen to a package. These were two to a package. I can't seem to get a short link to paste so just do a search on Ebay with this copy:
