I have a 92 5.0 OMC Cobra. the problems I am having are as followed, when going from idle to full throttle the motor wants to cut out so I had to play with the throttle to get it to run then when trying to make turns it also tried to cut out, had some issues fixed last year, brother n law replaced the carb a few yrs ago. the timing was to far advanced and the jets were too small. since then the problem is a lot better but still have problems with motor cutting out when going from idle to full throttle. I have replaced filter. what can i do to fix the problem?

Get a carb rebuild kit. Accelerator pump isn't working.

Start with the basics, fuel tank vent, anti siphon valve, fuel filter.
Then move on the carb and ignition system.
Lastly another member had a Performance problem that turned out to be exhaust flappers blocking the exhaust.

On my old boat it would start and idle fine, it would rev up in neutral fine and both the ignition advance and the accel pump were fine. Turned out to be the anti siphon valve on the gas tank.

All of your symptoms, especially dying out on turns indicates low fuel level in the float bowl. Assuming your carb rebuild was a good one with a properly set float level, I'd be looking into a fuel pump pressure and volume test. Change the filter first and see if that helps.
