I have removed a JoyStick Pro wakeboard tower from my H230 in favor of a standard Bimini (and to respect some trees and wires I have to pass under sometimes when towing). There are 4 attachment blocks, about 2" by 4", left on the boat (no so pretty). I suppose I'll need to take those off if I sell the tower, but that will leave even uglier holes. I suppose the "right" thing is to patch with fiberglass and redo the gelcoat in those spots, but that sounds expensive. Are there cover plates or something similar that could work until I'm ready to redo the rest of the hull?

Interesting idea. Not sure it would work where those mounts are. Here's a pic:

I'm leaning towards getting some stainless sheet stock and cutting it to the same size and screwing it into place.

You could get some stainless carriage bolts with a head diameter slightly larger than the hole. You could polish the heads of the bolts or paint them with epoxy paint to match the gel coat.

I would just have it fixed with fiberglass and gelcoat. Cosmetically it would look so much better to be back to normal

Thanks. I agree. And it will work better for us, too.

One day I'd like to get the gelcoat cleaned up and redone, and that would be the time to fully patch the tower holes, but that isn't really in the budget right now.
