I live less than 1 mile from highway 131 north of Grand Rapids, Michigan and about 90 miles due south of the Four Winns plant. 131 is the main north/south highway out of Cadillac, Michigan where all of these wonderful boats are being built. Well, I travel 131 quite a bit and for the last two/three weeks I have seen at least one semi load a day of boats heading south. Somebody is going to be happy soon!

If anyone needs me to flag down a truck or do an "inspection" let me know! :D

Not yet. Hopefully this spring. I just joined the FW family in November so I'm due to learn all of the bells and whistles and there is no better place.

Let us know how the tour is. I've wanted to take one for a while now, but I need a nice story to convince my wife that the 5 - 6 hour drive is worth it.

When did you order your boat and what area are you from? Waiting on our new 278 Vista. Hope you didn't get ours by mistake! :)

Tadpole, located in central Illinois and I ordered mine last November. Pretty much wrote the specs on it but it has just about everything they offered. I did hold out on the pillow package though for something like $400. My wife has already taken care of that. Mine looks black in the picture but it is blue. What color is yours? Did you order a fiberglass arch?

I must say, the trucks look awesome going down the road. Fourwinns does a great job packing the trailer to show off the boat while protecting it from the road. There are some really nice looking boats going out.

Tadpole! Too funny! We are getting a 278 blue, no pillow package, I did ours. No arch though, but just about everything else! Maybe ours is on the way!

"Tadpole! Too funny!" - NO NO I'm Flyer51. Tadpole is apparently what the forum calls you when you're a new poster.

Anyway sounds like yours is the twin to mine without the arch. Where do you boat at? You got a name for yours yet? We're struggling although we may be close on a final decision. Are you going to wet slip yours? What are you towing with? I ask because I'm apparently shopping for a new tow vehicle now.

I figured the Tadpole thing out after I sent the email! Sorry about that! We boat at Dale Hollow Lake and will be keeping the boat in a storage shed down the road from the lake(Wisdom Dock, Albany KY). We do not want to keep the boat in the water, because it's got to last a looooong time. We had a 1997 26 ft Donzi 255LXC before this one and we kept it in storage when we weren't using it too. We always wash and clean before we put it away.

We just bought a new truck too! A 2500HD GMC Sierra Crew Cab. Duramax Diesel - Allison Transmission, auto six speed. We were lucky enough to find an 07 for a super price and super low miles, 9000! This truck tows 13,000 pounds, which is what you will need when you're loaded. Good luck with the search on the truck. If you find a good one, don't let it get away, they are hard to find, at least around here.

We are still thinking bout the name. I've got a list a mile long! :P Let us know if you are ever stopping at Dale Hollow, maybe we can get together!

Terie
