The gas strut that holds the ski locker door open is missing from my 2004 Horizon. I believe the gas struts are mostly auto parts store items, but I can't find the specs for this one and don't have an old one. I can't figure out which strut is the one for the ski locker on the Four Winns parts catalog. Can you help with specs or maybe a photo of any data on the strut itself?

If not, maybe Four Winns would give me more info over the phone. Not sure how happy/able they are to give out info about a 10 year old boat.

Just missed a bad pinched finger yesterday, telling me it's time to fix this.

Thanks, rbatterton. As I mentioned, I have looked in the Four Winns catalog, but there are several struts listed and it isn't clear to me which is the one for the ski locker. Do you happen to know which it is, or have a Horizon that you can get a part # from?

Since nobody seems to have one to pull a number off of, a little detective work is called for.

The Four Winns catalog specs 2 of these in the "deck" section:

part # 048-0890: GAS SHOCK, 17" 30# GSNI-5200-30

Since there are 2, I'm guessing they are for the aft hatches, though the numbers don't match what is on mine.

In "cockpit", they list 1 each of:

part # 048-0890: GAS SHOCK, 17" 30# GSNI-5200-30
part # 048-1322: GAS SHOCK, 12" 30 LB. #GSNI-5100-30

Supposing that one is for the ski locker and one is for the helm locker, I'll measure the helm locker and see if I can figure it out from there.
